Agilent 1200 Series LC Systems

We use Agilent’s 1200 series quaternary LC system to analyze low molecular weight linear organic solvents. This analytical instrument has a capability to automatically switch between four solvents, which give it ability to switch between methods using different solvents. Major components of our HPLC instrument include 1) Quaternary pump 2) 1200 series Auto sampler, 3) Thermostatted column compartment 4) Refractive Index detector. All these components can be controlled by user friendly software, ChemStation (Rev. A.06.03), provided by Agilent.

Major Components and their functions:

  1. 1200 Series Quaternary pump - http://www.chem.agilent.com/Scripts/PDS.asp?lPage=101
Quaternary pump comes with a micro vacuum Degasser that ensures stable solvent flow. Its flow rate can be regulated with the software or controlled with the handheld controller.
  2. 1200 series auto sampler - http://www.chem.agilent.com/scripts/pds.asp?lpage=17330
1200 series Autosampler with 100 vial (2ml) tray, is equipped with a thermostat that helps maintain temperature of the samples. The injection volume of the autosampler can range from 0.1-100 ul.
  3. Thermostatted column compartment - http://www.chem.agilent.com/Scripts/PDS.asp?lPage=215 Column compartment is temperature regulated with two temperature zones and independent heat exchangers. It can accommodate three full length 30cm columns.
  4. Refractive Index Detector - http://www.chem.agilent.com/Scripts/PDS.asp?lPage=230
RI detector with electronic temperature regulation maintains temperature up to 55oC.
